Jersey Fresh

I visited a farm in New Jersey...it was near South Brunswick, exit 8A.

It's very low key... love it.. They sell home & locally grown veges and fruits in their barn market. Here is the cat
sleeping behind the stand. I bought zucchini and summer squash there. Next day I sauteed them with extra virgin olive oil, blueberries, garlic, Maille mustard.. OMG IT WAS DELICIOUS!! I was blown away!

Rasberry field..

Baby jalapenos found in the dried-up green house..

There are also animals..chicks, goat, horses and donkeys.. Holy donkey, their noses are so soft when I touched!! They have long eyelashes, soft grey fur, gentle movement..

I fell in love with donkey... They are insanely adorable!

Whatever people say about the garden state, NJ is full of charm, indeed.. Come & pick your own Jersey fresh vegetables
and farm grown products:)

Driving Practice: EXITS 0 & 4

Prior to a road trip scheduled in August, I need to practice driving. I've not driven for three years... So these weekends, I drove around in
New Jersey.. By the way, this photo is nothing implying the consequence of my driving! Taken by KK..

The first destination was Cape May, exit 0 (!) of Garden State Parkway. I couldn't believe that such an exit ZERO
exists at the end of the highway, but there is the one for real. We headed for fireworks on July 4th so we arrived before the sun set down.

It's a pretty town..definitely for vacationing, I thought it's not too refined as the Hamptons, quite local, low key, very Jersey.
My friend commented "Granny.." Yeah, right, the stores are more beachy, southern flavored architecture, and the COLORS!
It reminds us a grandma and aunt at a pouch kind of thing.

After we had a yummy pork BBQ in a local restaurant ("Hotel California" was played in the back, of course), we chilled at the beach. The fireworks started around 9:20pm and went on like 10 minutes. Needless to say, the return traffic was.. not very
friendly. But over all, it was a good gataway and my first comeback driving wasn't too bad.

For the second practice, I chose to go to Camden, exit 4 of NJ turnpike. As many know, Camden is known for the city
always on the list of "Top 10 dangerous cities in the U.S."... It's not the reason because I wanted to venture out, but
there is a house that the American poet Walt Whitman lived till his death, I've wanted to check it out for years so
I rented this Suzuki Forenza for the trip. By the way, Suzuki car has a funny sound when driving, or just this car?

I got lost in the city and was very close to hit another car when I was checking the directions. OMG, an inexperienced
driver driving in an unfamiliar place is never good. My face was so pale by then seriously. I finally arrived the house and also found IT'S CLOSED!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?! The red door was sure locked. The guy sitting at the pouch next door said "Ask the congressman to open it." Oh Ok I may..

I went to visit the aquarium within 5 minutes away from the Whitman house. Seeing seacreatures actually made my day, there were hippos, sharks, birds, seals, penguins of course lots of fish! This is a glass tunnel of the shark tank we can go under the water. It's pretty cool.

I had an eye contact with a horseshoe crab.. I had never seen it this close. They float alot. Pretty amazing.

The bonus of the day was a 3D Sponge Bob movie in the aquarium. It totally made sense and added more fun as he, his
seacreature friends, colleagues and neighbors are all residents at the bottom of the ocean, the Bikini Bottom. Ah, I LOVE
SPONGE BOB SQUAREPANTS the best among all the animated features so far. He is a real cool dude.. By the way, there will be the SPONGE BOB BASH this weekend, starting from tonight 7/17 at 8pm on Nick: http://spongebob.nick.com/bash. Happy 10th year!

This is the Delaware River overlooking the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge and Philadephia from Camden side. The itinerary of the August load trip is NY-DC-MD-PA-NJ.. Will I be able to make it really..It will be more than double of this trip distance, won't it?
