History of Fragrances

I am now waiting for my new perfume coming to my home... While I was thinking of which fragrance could be my new scent of the year(s), these perfumes came up in my mind. Hmm, I admit myself pretty classic & conservative as I see my old fragrance friends in the past..

Nina Ricci's L'Air du Temps should be found almost anywhere... I remember the small bottle had been sitting in my mom's vanity case for ages when I was in between mid to high school. (she never wears any perfumes) and I sometimes snuck out with it. The bottle is peaceful and eternal, isn't it?

And then I was given a perfume by Tiffany back in early 1990s. It might be still somewhere in my parents' house if my mom doesn't throw it away... She hates perfumes as she gets a headache. Poor mom.

Soon after I realized Tiffany was a bit too much for a high schooler, I guess I ended up wearing Cacharel's Anais Anais and Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent according to occasions. Anais is really sweet and I loved it... I think Jazz was kind of my adventure and surely enough I never used it up.

My late teens and early 20s were spent with this One by Calvin Klein.

After I came to the U.S., I think I started wearing Nina by Nina Ricci for quite a while. One big drawback was that they didn't make it any more so I had to look for it at every single perfume store in the city and did extensive web search.. I finally gave up finding last year although I still remember how nice, gracious and lovely the scent is.. I truly cherished the bottle originally designed by Lalique.

It was a great departure for myself to switch my signature fragrance (ha ha). When I was browsing in the perfume section in Saks Fifth Avenue, Opium by YSL turned me on instantly. It smells like "hooker" perfume!;P

I also use Bath and Body Works' Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT for my backup scent, i.e. for my clothes or when I forget spraying before I leave my home. Actually, I like its body splash version better..

I won't tell you what perfume would be the next, as only those who shall hang out with me will recognize! ;)
